Max, Harper and the ZOO!!!

We hope you've all had a nice Memorial Day weekend. We've certainly enjoyed our holiday and are thankful to our soldiers. Today, we went to the zoo with the Feilke clan. (Harper and Max just didn't get enough of one another at the Wonder Place!) We didn't really take any pictures of the animals - the boys were our entertainment!

We HEART the Wonder Place!!

This past Friday, Max and I met Harper and Sally for lunch and some playtime at the Wonder Place in Little Rock. We had a FABULOUS time!!! By the end of our playtime at the Wonder Place, Max was SO worn out that he just layed down on the floor!! Here are some pictures!

The boys "carbing-up" before play time!

Sophie enjoying the boat ride too!

Max enjoyed his first boat ride! Clay and Melissa invited us to join them for a ride! It was SO much fun! As you can see from the picture above, Max did not really enjoy wearing a life jacket - as I've said before, this kid likes to live dangerously! Ha! He loved playing Captain with Uncle Clay! Max cannot wait for Clay and Melissa's little one to arrive in November. Although, it might be a little traumatizing for Max. He absolutely adores them both and may not know how to handle losing his spot as the center of attention. He and Sophia (their dog) will just have to comfort each other. We are going to have SO much fun with our little ones!!!

Poor Baby Max

Max was sick the week before last. He was just so sad!! Here are some pictures of my sick baby boy. You can see in his eyes how bad he felt. Poor Baby Max!

As I was typing "Poor Baby Max" it made me think, "When will he no longer be Baby Max?" He is definitely growing like a weed, however, he is still very much my baby boy. He wears mainly 2T clothes. When we went to the dr. while he was sick, his weight was down a little. He's around 26 lbs. and measures somewhere around 34-35 inches. He is still walking around furniture and the walls. Climbing is definitely one of his favorite pass times. He discriminately says Momma and Dad-da now. I must admit, hearing him say Dad-da might be one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard!! For some reason, he says it so much cuter than Momma sounds, even though it still makes me smile when I hear him call for me. He can identify the baby in his book and says the same word for all dogs, including Rocky. He can point to your eye and say eye. We've been working on nose.

He still loves his monkeys! He breaks out into the biggest smile if you sing 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed or 5 Little Monkeys Swinging from a Tree. He spent the night with his Shugah last weekend. She taught him some hand movements to 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. He just LOVES it! (The itsy-bitsy spider is still a real staple!) He met Aunt Toochie for the first time and played with Memaw and Papaw (well between not during the Belmont, I'm sure). They said he was SO much fun!! Shugah spent the night with us Friday after Shugah and Max's mom went to hear Willie Nelson with Chris and crew. (Pop joined us for Catfish) Kelly and Max were too pooped to join us for Willie - they were both in bed around 8!! Max was just all smiles when he woke up with her the next morning. It was a much welcomed surprise! He was a wild man that morning too! (I think he was showing out for her!) I love how much Max loves his family! We've had lots more fun so get ready for a few more posts!

We're BACK!!

It's been over a month since my last post but that certainly doesn't mean we have been without anything post worthy! In fact, we've had so much going on that I know I'm going to miss something in my "catch-up" post! Max's best friend, Harper, celebrated his first birthday. It was a great party! Sadly, I don't have any pictures to post but hope to in the future. Max also celebrated his second Easter. He was SO good at mass!! Our family went on vacation to Florida in April and had a fabulous time. Max started walking on our vacation!! He won't take steps without holding on to something but this was HUGE!! At the airport, he started walking up and down the chairs (holding on to the chairs of course!) I must admit - I cried! (WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME??) Any hoo, we are SO proud and can't wait till he'll take some steps without holding on to anything! He is talking more and more these days. He loves to point at things and say, "What's that?" This past weekend, his mom spent her first night away from him!!! He and his dad did just fine without mommy! YAY! Well, enough talk - here are some photos.

While in Florida we took some Family Pictures
FYI - Max did NOT like the beach
This is the Beach where my sister and Mike will get married next year!!

We also went to the Brevard County Zoo!!
Max didn't know what to think of this crazy goat!!

The Brevard Zoo had a GREAT little wading pool for the kids at the petting zoo area. Max had LOADS of fun! We also got to feed the GIRAFFES!! So neat!!
Checking out the otters with Sara and Zach

I guess it goes without saying but when we go to FL, Kelly plays LOTS and LOTS of golf! (It helps when there is a course in the family!) This year Kelly took Max to play. They played 3 holes "together."

Max is helping Dad pick out a club

Off to the Green!

Good Shot, Dad! Let me get your ball!!

Hopefully we will do better taking pictures and updating! Max will be staying the night away from home without either parent this Saturday so wish Sugah, Pop and Max luck!! Max's dad is going to Vegas and his mom is heading to Fayetteville! (Thankfully, Rocky will be around to help out!) Have a great week.

Hugs!!
