Happy 2nd Birthday!!

This weekend we celebrated Max's 2nd Birthday!?! WHAT?? I just cannot believe he will be 2 on Wednesday. It just doesn't seem right!! We had the best time with friends and family and are so grateful to them all!! (We are also so thankful for the beautiful weather we had on Saturday so the kids were able to play outside!)

This year we did an airplane theme. Max loves airplanes just about more than anything (well maybe not Curious George)!! Max's mom may take a theme TOO far, but it is SO much fun!!

Here is his invitation - isn't it the cutest little boarding pass!

The front of the house had balloons and his birthday banner. We lined the stairs with yellow cones - too cute! Here was the welcome sign on the front door.

Here was the "Baggage Claim" where all the goody bags were located!!
Obviously, this picture was taken after the party. But the goody bags were my favorite!! They were suitcases. We filled them with little pilot ducks, airline wings (thanks to Becky!!), crayons in the shape of planes, plane cookies, a plane kazoo, and, of course, a bag of pretzels! I just thought they were SOOOO cute!!!

Here are a couple of the pilot ducks!

These were the decorations hanging throughout the house - planes and clouds!

We covered all the card tables with white paper and drew clouds and planes on the paper. We put some of the airplane crayons on the tables and let the kids color.

The Crayons - SO cute!!

Getting Ready for Cake!!!!

Here is Pilot Max sitting in his "plane" (His plane high chair was my favorite decoration!)

Isn't his party hat so cute with the airplane on it!?!I couldn't believe how well Max did with everyone singing Happy Birthday. He acted a little shy but he didn't cry. He even blew out his candles!!

He LOVES cake!! LOVE THE PLANE CHAIR!!! Mmm!

The kids playing outside!!
HOW cute is this picture!!!
Blowing bubbles!
How sweet?!
We were so overwhelmed with all the wonderful gifts Max received. Thanks EVERYONE SO very much!! Here he is playing with all his new toys! And here Max, after the party, sneaking some bites of cake - guess he really liked the cake!!

Here is a fun video of Max sneaking cake! Remember to go directly to the blog to view the video.

I hope you all enjoyed your peek into our party. Kelly is absolutely the best husband and dad! He totally indulges me and helps out SO much!! We had a great time and TOTALLY could not have done it without all the help of Sugah, my dad and Kelley - and of course our special friend Amy who makes things shine!!

We had a fantastic weekend and can't wait to celebrate Max's birthday on Wednesday and then again in West Memphis with my family on Sunday after church. Have a great week!!! Hugs and love!!

Pullin' up a cooler to the Tractor Show

Max loves tractors. Anytime he seems ANYTHING resembling a tractor (bulldozers, cranes - whatever) he starts pointing and screaming, "TRACTOR!" Lucky for Max there is quite a bit of construction going on by our house and our normal driving routes. Just last week, we had about 15 mins of road work right in front of our house!! O' the excitement! Max pulled up a "seat" and watched. Take a peek!

Pullin' up his chair (don't you all keep coolers by your front door?)

The perfect seat!!

TRACTORS in MY FRONT YARD = PURE BLISS!! (Seriously, look at that face!!)

O, No - Where did they go?! He was completely distraught!!

Stay tuned! We'll have more entries to come! Max celebrated his 2nd Birthday this weekend with wonerful family and friends.

30th Birthday Fun!!

I turned 30 a week ago (Feb. 13th). We headed to Hot Springs for the races and had the BEST time!! I have the most thoughtful husband. He organized a great day with great family and friends. There was a race named in honor of my birthday. It was the McNulty Flirty at Thirty! and High Heels 'N Jewels won!! How perfect was that? We got to go down on the track with the winning horse. SOOOO much fun!!! Thanks so much to Wendy and Tim for keeping Max!!

With the Winning Jockey! With One of My Birthday Platters of Shrimp Courtesy of Mr. McNulty - he's pretty awesome (and I'm certain my mother-in-law played a HUGE part in this too!!) (notice the candles - they were blazing and the crowd was singing when the shrimp came out - too funny!)

This past week my wonderful sister- and brother-in-law invited us all over for a birthday dinner to celebrate Chris's and my birthday. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Owen, Shannon and Augusta Grace. Max and AG really LOVE each other. They have starting playing really well together. I love it!!

Both kiddos hopped up on sugar (not Sugah)

Here is Max snuggled in Owen and Shannon's Bed - he is not shy to make himself at home (wonder where he gets that?)

Cousins!! So Sweet!!

Or maybe not so sweet!

Max is getting consoled by Sugah. I'm sure he was crying as a result of not being allowed to do something or being told no - poor kid.

Thank you to ALL of my wonderful friends and family who wished me Happy Birthday and those who celebrated with us. It was FANTASTIC!! Thanks again and lots of love and hugs to you all.

Have a MAXalicious week!

I want PIZZA (and beer)!?

We ventured out into the the snow today for pizza (and beer). When Kelly came out of US Pizza, Max started screaming, "Pizza!" (Let's not talk about how sad it is that he recognized the pizza box!!) He pitched an all out fit in the car begging for some pizza. It was HYSTERICAL. He was screaming, "I want Pizza!!" (He didn't ask for beer but he certainly reached for it.) Luckily, I had the camera.

Austin, TX

Last week Max and I went to Austin to visit one of my very best friends, Ashlee, and her husband Darren. Ashlee and Darren are expecting their first baby at the end of March! We are SO excited for them!! Ashlee is such a great friend. She actually came to LR when Max was born.
Ashlee and Max on Max's Birthday

We can't wait until Darren and Ash have their little baby. (They are waiting until the little one is born to find out if the baby is a he or she!) So, I'll be headed back to Austin VERY soon!! I cannot believe the next time I see them they will have a sweet little baby!!! YAY!! Well, Max had a fantastic time in Austin. I was so pleased with how well-behaved he was away from home and off schedule (however I think I let him watch TOO much TV to make up for the lack of toys and he's been having withdrawals this week).

Again, I'm a bad mommy because I did not take any pictures of Max on the plane. He LOVED watching all the planes at the airport but I don't think he quite understood he was actually flying on a plane. (Max is OBSESSED with airplanes - so much so we are having an airplane themed 2nd birthday party.) He was great on the plane. I found it very interesting how NO ONE would sit with us. Every flight we took was basically full. There were rows of people sitting three to a row yet Max and I had a whole row to ourselves. Guess flying with an almost 2-yr old does have its perks.

Here are a few of the pictures from our trip:

Max absolutely adored Darren and loved hanging out with him He enjoyed hanging out with Briggs too

Dancing the night away

Look at that hair - I LOVE IT!!!
Worn out from all his fun - snuggled next to Ashlee (and her little belly!!)

We had a great time visiting and can't wait to go back. We heart the Myers and know they are going to be AWESOME parents!!

Wow - four posts in a week!! Guess that is what happens when you wait over a month to post anything!! Don't worry this won't become a habit, besides - we really aren't that interesting!! =)

love to you all!
