First Blog - so it's a long one

It's Official - the McNultys (well at least Tabitha) have joined the blogging world!! Kelly will DIE! Now that I'm a mom and my life has "truly" begun, I've decided to do a blog so that everyone can keep tabs on my little miracle's progress!! Max is growing so fast and I can't believe he will be 4 months old this Thursday!!
So let's start from the beginning. We found out on July 2, 2007 that we were pregnant! Wow!

MARCH 3, 2008

Maxwell Bernard McNulty was born on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 12:35 p.m. Max for short. We thought Max McNulty sounded SO cute - maybe a future Razorback? Max means the greatest, which is very fitting for our little guy. Bernard is after my grandfather. He weighed in at 8 lbs and 13 oz. and measured 20 inches long.

We had SO many friends and family at the hospital when he was born - it was so amazing. One of my best friends from Austin actually flew in on Sunday and then flew home on Monday after he was born. (She wasn't psychic, it was a scheduled c-section.) We think Ashlee is pretty great. Allison came in from Hope and my aunts came from WM and aunt Wendy from PB. My aunt Gayle, Ashlee, and Kelly's mom came early that morning and met us at the hospital. Kelly sent me some orchids, which was kind of a tradition of my grandfather - he sent an orchid for girls. Super busy Erin and Prego Sally and Matthew came too. Then there was all the fam!

He practically slept through the night the whole time we were in the hospital. It snowed the day he was born - snow in March!! It snowed most of that week. It was pretty amazing. My mother and brother, Zach, came to town from FL. Zach thought it was great playing in the snow. My sister came the first weekend in April. He ABSOLUTELY LOVES Sara! She was so wonderful with him. On his first month birthday the state was RIDDLED with tornadoes. We were huddled in the hallway. I was terrified, but dear old dad took care of us. If his birth brought snow and his one month birthday brought tornadoes, I have to say we are scared to death of what his one year birthday will bring!!

At two months, he had gained about 5 lbs and grown about 5 inches. He slept most of the time. He really only woke up to eat and would only stay awake for about 20 - 30 minutes at a time. He is about 17 lbs and 27 inches now. He wears 6, 6/9, and 9 mth clothes. (He is a big one!) He is still a VERY good sleeper and eater. He LOVES playing with his friends (his tiny love mobile) in his bed. He is VERY ticklish! I LOVE his sweet little laugh.

We've already had so many firsts! He smiled - not gas - smiled within the first month. He has taken his first plane ride to Florida. He's already gone to the Zoo (where a bear thought he looked like a tasty morsel) and for his first swim!

He has already had his first sacrament. He was baptized on June 15, 2008 at Holy Souls. It was my grandfather's birthday and the anniversary of my baptism, which I thought was pretty special! ALL the friends and family made the day even MORE special!

He has made his first friend. Five weeks to the day after he was born his best and first friend Matthew Harper Feilke was born. They "play" just about EVERY day! This past Friday we tried cereal for the first time and he liked it ok - I think. Today he hit a REALLY big milestone - he ROLLED OVER!! I'm not really sure how he did it. He was in his bed on his back and I only left the room for a second, but when I returned he was on his belly!! He looked really proud of himself. It was so amazing and I'm probably A LOT prouder than I should be, but what can I say - HE'S PERFECT!

I hope I keep up with this blog. Maybe it will be an easier way for me to keep everyone up to date with the goings on of our family. For those of you that I call to brag every time the sweet little boy takes a perfect breath - I don't think those phone calls will be coming to an end anytime soon!! I'm just too proud!

Now I'll attempt to post some photos of my sweet baby!! (Remember I'm new at this and I'm almost 4 months behind - so I have A LOT of catching up with photos!)

Tab...We think of you everytime we go down N. Pkwy in Memphis....your favorite house is still there. And then we remember your always telling us that you were going to be the first female president. (You may still have a chance!) But looks to me like all that has changed. Max looks like he has the same personality as his Mom...he's just a doll! You're right...you're in for a thrill ride (and don't think there aren't lots of bumps..there are), but when he's grown and leaves home, you'll still feel just as proud as you do now. You two will be great parents. I'm marking this as a favorite so I can keep up with the little rascal! Maybe we'll get to see him during the reunion. Love,
Jim and Janie Spence
