WHAT A DAY!!!!

O' my goodness! We've had quite a day of firsts today! It began when Max decided to read his first magazine. It was American Baby. Take a look:

Rather than learning by reading or even osmosis, he's learning via digestion! Talk about heartburn!!I'm not quite sure that he liked his first "taste" of reading. (Looks like Kelly eating Cauliflower!)

Then, while I was cooking dinner he said MOM-MA!! I mean CLEAR as day and more than once!!! It made my heart skip a beat - EACH time! (Kelly witnessed it!) It was one of those moments where you say, "O my gosh, he SAID momma!!" not "Did he just say momma?" Now rather or not he knows what it means is a completely different thing all together. It feels like mother's day all over again! I know this may sound silly but it almost makes me cry just thinking about it! My baby said his first word!! (Does it count if they don't know what it means - either way, it counts for me today!)

Well, if that wasn't enough, he had a few more first today - he's must be going down the check list he read in his magazine and is just checking things off! WORDS really are power!! (Or maybe he's just like his mom and procrastinates, but then he gets everything done all in one day!) So, I was getting him ready for bed and laid him down. He wasn't laying flat on his back. He was on a pillow, at a slight incline, but not in a sitting position at all. Well, that sucker has some STRONG stomach muscles because he crunched his stomach and pulled himself into a sitting position WITHOUT falling forward or toppling over for the FIRST time!! He sat ALL by himself and acted like he'd been doing it FOREVER - Can we say check, check - mark those milestones down! (I mean I'm am just BEAMING with pride!!) It's so exciting, but at the same time, it's kind of sad because it means he's growing up.

My baby sitting (without any help) for the very first time!!
Ya gotta hold your tongue JUST right to sit by yourself!
Look MOMMA, No Hands!

(Moms really are just a bunch of women - we just can't make up our minds. One minute I'm so impatient and just can't wait for him to reach EVERY milestone but in that same breathe I'm sad when he actually does because he isn't the little tiny baby I brought home from the hospital, meaning he's growing up and will need me less and less!)

What an exciting day! But I totally understand how you feel; development is a double-edged sword!

We are waiting with bated breath for Addison's first words! We hear a lot of da-da-da-da, but never just da-da, and heaven forbid, ma-ma!

Way to go!

Yay, Max!! Hope he had a good night sleep after his exciting day!! I know you are so proud! Keep enjoying every moment before you are like me and so senile that you can't keep their names straight, much less remember their firsts!! Congrats, girl!
