Oh! The Places You'll Go!!

I love that book by Dr. Suess. It's a pretty good description of growing up - yet, I'm sure I never viewed it that way as a child, however I certainly do now as the parent. Max has definitely had lots of adventures lately (good and bad), unfortunately my pregnancy brain will not allow me to remember them all, but I'll try my best!

We've been chugging along in the McNulty household. Max is still full of energy and lots of personality! He makes me laugh - DAILY! The pictures are a little out of order, so bear with me.

For Thanksgiving Max and I left for Sherrill on Tuesday. We were able to hang out with Shawn and family. The kids had lots of fun and I got lots of great cooking lessons from Linda. It was great!! Kelly joined us on Wednesday. Then we loaded up after Thanksgiving lunch with the McNultys and headed to West Memphis. We were able to see the McLemore clan (including my sister and Mike). It was wonderful. I think Thanksgiving is definitely my favorite holiday. I love all the togetherness (and my aunt Libby's dressing - it's all I ate).

We left Memphis on Friday to be home in time for the BIG game on Saturday. We took Max tailgating. I thought he did really well. He had a major meltdown when we left Tusk - but I can't say that I blame him. We've taught him to call the hogs and love them as much as we do but yet we expected him to be ok with leaving a Razorback? He's just that big of a fan!

Uncle Shawn pulling the kids on the trike - what a GREAT auction find! YAY Pop!

Before Thanksgiving, our mom's group had a play date at a farm out by Greenbrier. It was SO much fun. The kids went on a hayride and just played their little hearts out.

Max is so funny and SUCH a boy. This next little paragraph is NOT for the faint! So Max, is OBSESSED with gas. If he passes gas, he laughs hysterically exclaiming, "I pooted!" Lately, he'll even warn you. He says, "Momma, Momma, shhhh, listen." [silence followed by hysterical laughing] "Momma, I pooted!!!" Like I said, SUCH a boy. His favorite toys are sticks, rocks, acorns, and leaves. I find them in my bed and ALL over the house - guess it could be worse!!

Deer season opened since my last posting. So we all loaded up and went to Sherrill. Max and I hung out with Sugah, Memaw and Wendy while the boys went to the deer woods. We had a great time. Max went with the girls to the annual Shop and Sip in Pine Bluff. I loved it! Max and Linda did go on a nature walk and made their way to the shop where Max had his first deer hunting encounter. I thought he would talk it about more but he hasn't mentioned it once. However, I recently received some of the Disney movies my sister and I watched as kids and Max is OBSESSED with Bambi. It's far and away his favorite.

My future deer hunter worn out from opening weekend, however the only thing he hunted was shopping deals! ;)

Halloween (and the Vanderbilt game) were on the same weekend we were in Sherrill. Our neighborhood has a GREAT Halloween celebrations but we were just TOO tired to make the drive home. We were SO sad to miss it. However, we went to a Halloween party on Halloween so Max didn't miss out on dressing up. Here is my dinosaur and his dad.

Little Miss Maggie is just growing away - only 5 weeks to go! We have an ultrasound on Tuesday and the Doctor will set a date for a c-section. Wish us luck. Earlier in the pregnancy, she measured about a week small and I always felt she was smaller than Max was at the same gestational age. However, I feel like she has REALLY hit a growth spurt, so I'm very curious to see what she measures now. Wish us luck!! Her due date is 1/11/11 (which would be so much fun) but because we will be having another c-section I have a feeling the doctor will take her a week early. Guess what date is one week prior to 1/11/11 - yep, 1/4/11 - and do you know what is happening on that day?!? THE SUGAR BOWL!!!!! And thanks to Shawn's Auburn Tigers, our beloved Razorbacks will be kicking off in NOLA!!
Is it terrible that I discussed this sad fate with my doctor in hopes that he would not schedule the c-section on the 4th? Imagine my surprise when he just really wasn't concerned or really even sympathetic with our plans to watch the Sugar bowl - he did concede that if the 4th was the best day for Maggie to arrive he'd make sure to schedule the c-section early in the morning so we'd be out of recovery by kick off. I mean seriously, it's the least he could do since we've already accepted the reality that we can't go to the game (even though I read on the Sugar Bowl website children under 2 are permitted free - so I'm thinking if she came this month we could just load her up, strap her in the bjorn and take her with us!) ;)

Do you remember this picture? I remember thinking it was so funny looking over at Max eating breakfast. Well, little did I know what my future held. So last night some friends came over to join us in cheering on the Auburn Tigers - even though they didn't need it. And we had a chex mix with miniature m&ms. Max thought it was YUMMY!!! While I was cleaning Max came over to me, holding a miniature m&m whimpering that his nose was burning. I asked him what was wrong and he told me he put an m&m UP HIS NOSE!!!! I looked up his nose and sure enough I could barely see a red m&m ALL THE WAY UP HIS NOSE!!!!!!! Luckily, we were able to get him to blow his nose and the m&m came right out. Because the m&m was red, he had red coming from his nose and just every where - so he began yelling, "I bleeding, I bleeding." Definitely NOT one of our greatest moments. I've never been so happy to have a doctor as a friend!
Guess it was just one of the Bang-ups and Hang-ups Dr. Suess warned about! Lucky for us the ER wasn't one of the places we had to go last night! I know we will have many more bang-ups! In fact, my latest fear is Max's obsession with trying to fly - try explaining to a two-year old that he can't fly. Not the easiest thing to do! Wish us luck!!
Well, we hope you all have a wonderful week. Say a prayer for us on Tuesday.
Love and Hugs!!
