Friends, Cheese and Peek-a-Boo

Just a quick post!
Max and Rocky - this is SO sweet and rare!! (Usually Rocky avoids Max and runs from him. Unfortunately, Max thinks it is a game and chases after him!)

CHEESE - now whenever Max sees a camera flash he runs towards it saying, "Cheese!" Too funny!

Peek-A- Boo is still one of Max's FAVORITE games - he'll hide behind ANYTHING

Sweet Little Boy

I can't believe September is almost over! We've had lots of fun this month. Since our last post, Max spent the weekend with Aunt Wendy and Uncle Tim in PB while Kelly and I went to Fayetteville for the Georgia game. Wendy and Tim said he could come back so I'm guessing he was a good boy!! Even though the game didn't go as planned, Kelly and I had a great weekend in Fayetteville.

This past weekend we went to Harvestfest in Hillcrest (for about 20 minutes - ha!!). Max got to try out his wagon. He really liked it. We also got to visit with Hannah. She was SO sweet to visit us but we sure missed Colin (Trey too)! After Harvestfest we watch the dreadful AR/Bama game - it was TERRIBLE!!!! However, Max kept our spirits up. He is so cute during football games. He yells touchdown with arm motions and will scream, "go, go, go" while pumping his fists. It is SO cute.

Yesterday Max went back and forth between Kelly and I giving us kisses and smacking his lips while running between us. It was A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!! I love my little boy more everyday. He is really becoming such a little boy. He knows lots of his animals and the sounds they make. His quack is really funny. It is so much fun to watch him run and play, but it makes me so sad that he is moving further away from being a little baby. I've even taken to sleeping in his room again!!!!! (snuggling with him sometimes - not good!!) Well enjoy some recent pictures. Have a great week!

Kelly is definitely Max's favorite playmate
Family Pic in our red & white before the game (my cute little t-shirt is from bibs&cribs - just click the link. I love it!!)
Isn't this the most precious face?
Laying with his daddy!! Just look how big he is getting!!!
(In fact, as I type he is asleep in my lap, very similar to the picture!!)
Hugs to you all!

The Magic Word!!

Max has learned to say please and, believe me, he not only knows how to say please he knows WHEN to say please!! Lately whenever he REALLY wants something and I'm not responding quickly enough, he will walk up to me and say, "Pease, pease, pease!!" Talk about melting my heart!!! It might be one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard!!

Just the other day I gave him his breakfast. Well, he decided he didn't want what I prepared. So, he kept asking for more "num, num." I kept directing him to the food he had on his tray, but that was not the answer he wanted. So, he climbed into my lap, looked up at me with those big brown eye and with a smile on his face said, "pease, pease, pease." How could I refuse?? I, of course, promptly made him something different!! I guess it really is the magic word. HA!!

It really is so sweet. He even says it (well sometimes and somedays he needs some prompting) when he gets frustrated and needs help, which is a BIG change from just screaming until we help!

Here is a video of my sweet baby and his magical new word! (Remember you have to go directly to the blog to view videos http://kellytabithamcnultyfamily.blogspot.com/)

Back in Business!!

The camera was right in front of my face this WHOLE time!! whoops! Max began the start of his 2nd football season with his Sugah and Pop in Sherrill. He had a great time and was REALLY worn out when he got home. I know he is going to be so much fun this season. He still calls the hogs with the arm movements and has recently started saying "touchdown" with arm movements. His dad really works with him. It's really cute.

Max has been working really hard this summer teething. It start in May and hasn't stopped. All of his molars (top and bottom) are almost completely in and his k-9s are moving in too. Teething has been really rough for him this go round but I have to say, all in all, he's been a REALLY good sport.

When I was loading pictures from my camera I stopped and looked at pictures from September of last year. I CANNOT believe how much my baby has grown!!!! Take a look:

September 2008:
Barely sitting up - really GQ though!

No teeth!! (This picture just cracks me up - I feel like I can actually hear him laughing!!)

September 2009
Standing with a MOUTH FULL of teeth

What a difference a year makes huh?? A year ago, Max was barely sitting up without assistance and now he is running like a mad man!

Here he is running around the sprinkler park!

One thing that hasn't changed from last year is Max's appetite. Max still LOVES too eat!! We are working really hard on getting him to eat more solid vegetables. I know he is too old for baby food veggies but he still gets them sometimes because he will eat them (and enjoys eating them). Lately he will eat solid peas and green beans - so that is a definite plus. I don't know if it is a texture or taste issue for him but we will just keep trying until he will eat ALL his veggies!

Here he is eating spaghetti (and yes he is sitting on the table, it's so much fun - besides, isn't that where all little boys who are the center of the universe sit?)

He LIKES it - shocker, I know

Uh, o - I'm thinking someone told him no.
Max doesn't just sit on tables to eat, he likes to ride on them too - here he is riding the lazy susan at Sugah and Pop's house.

Max also continues to be a really messy eater! (I have a feeling that some things will never change.) FYI: these pictures totally don't do justice to the messes Max made - they were bad BELIEVE me!!!

Here he is in September of 2008 eating - look at that messy face

And here he is, exactly one year later and still a mess!!

With a face like that, what mother would mind cleaning up his mess - not this one!!

We have gone to the zoo a few times since Max was a baby but this month was the first time we've gone since he became a skilled walker/runner. He ran himself ragged at the zoo. He loved having the freedom and the animals. The bears were his favorite.

Here he is just running!! (and LOVING it!!)

In my very first blog, I posted about Max's first trip to the zoo in July 2008. On that trip to the zoo, Max pretty much slept in his stroller the ENTIRE time. On that first trip, a grizzly bear was OBSESSED with Max. The bear really tried to get him and wouldn't pay attention to anything/anyone but Max. I mean completely stalked him - it was one of the craziest things I've ever seen. Well, on our trip this week, the SAME bear was COMPLETELY obsessed with Max. Once again other people tried to get the bear's attention but he/she would ONLY follow Max. I'm telling you, it was SO weird!!! Take a look:

Here is the bear trying to get Max in July of 2008 Here the bear is again this week - look at him licking his lips!!
Max thought it was funny

Max enjoyed the petting zoo this time around too. This is him running away laughing and exclaiming, "oh, no!" He did this EVERY TIME he touched an animal. It was really entertaining.
O, No!!

He also had a fun time playing at the playground.

However, his FAVORITE part of the zoo, hands down, was the walk-through sprinklers. I couldn't get him away from those things.

Here he is WORN out from all the fun at the zoo!!!

As you can tell from the last picture, he is still a thumb sucker - just like last year! (He's also still a GREAT sleeper!!)

We hope you all had a great labor day! Have a wonderful week! HUGS!!!

We're in BIG trouble!!

Again, no pictures - the camera is still MIA, however, I HAD to post about yesterday. I put Max down for his afternoon nap. He was really fussy and really wasn't interested in being in his bed. Well, I went to the car to get a bag and when I walked back into the house Max WAS IN THE LIVING ROOM!!!!! (And no that isn't where his bed is located!) I WAS SO FREAKED OUT!! He did not hurt himself but my heart was racing. I had NO IDEA he could climb out. The bed only had one more level to lower!! We are in so much trouble!!

He really is a little monkey!!

Out of Sorts

I cannot believe it has been OVER a month since my last post and that it is already Sept!! Where does the time go? That is so sad! We have been super busy at the McNulty house! The last time I posted Max was still in Florida with my mom and family. I drove to Memphis to pick them up on July 29th. My aunt Carolyn joined me. Their plane was over 2 hours late!! I COULDN'T stand it. I felt really bad for my mom but the boys (Zach and Max) were so good for her. When Max saw me at the airport, he did not react as I had imagined - little stinker. He did give me a smile but totally looked at me like, "o, it's you again." ha! I chalked it up to his LONG trip. It was so wonderful that Max was able to spend 4 days in Florida and then a whole week with my mom and brother in Little Rock. Terri Lynn came from Hamburg for 2 different visits. Max LOVES her - seriously.

While they were here we went to the sprinkler park on the river. It is a complete understatement to say Max LOVED it!! Max also got to meet his newest cousin, Colin Carter the week my mom was here too. It was so much fun having a whole group of family over for lunch - especially when the lunch was made by everyone else while all I had to do was be at my house!! Bobbie's artichoke dips is to DIE for and I'm pretty sure I ate my body weight in Hannah's mom's chicken salad and cake - YUM YUM!! (I told them they could come for lunch any time - ha!!).
Max and AG together when Colin came for lunch - they look like they were in trouble don't they??

We were really sad for my mom and Zach to leave us. While we were in WM, Max got to show my dad his drumming skills. It was really cute watching those two play on my dad's drums. Last week my dad was here in LR, playing at Cajun's. We met him there early for dinner and Max helped him set up his drum set. I guess to reward him for a job well-done my dad sent him home with his VERY OWN drum sticks!! I was a little afraid they would become weapons, but so far so good - he only uses them to make "music."

Max is a WILD man these days. He is so active and completely babbles all time. His vocabulary is just growing so fast - it's like a ball rolling down a hill. Lately he runs around the house saying, "go, go." There are lots of times that I have no clue what he is saying but I can already tell that he has such a great imagination. He and his dad LOVE building forts and playing in them. I thought he would be too young for that but I was obviously wrong. He LOVES LOVES LOVES LOVES music and loves dancing. Lots of time his dancing consists of running in place or just shaking his head from side to side. SO cute!! He is really into airplanes right now and gets SO excited to hear and see one fly overhead. He's going to give himself whip-lash looking for airplanes.

Clara Grace and Christina also came to visit us one weekend. Christina was going to help me learn to sew but we ended up playing all weekend - I only made one pair of pants. We went to the sprinkler park again and both kiddos really loved it. I took a page from Ted's book that weekend and found three GREAT deals at a yard sale around the corner from my house. For $20 I purchased a little tykes picnic table, slide and BIG outdoor playhouse. If Max never played with any of the three again, I can promise you that we got our money's worth the weekend Clara was here. Max and Clara loved opening and closing the door and shutters on the playhouse. Max LOVES his new toys. Max also got a cozy coupe convertible car that gets LOTS of use. He LOVES everything about it!

Max and I joined Aunt Bobbie on a trip to NWA to visit his cousin, Colin, again. We were so glad to be apart of Colin's christening weekend.

Here is Max laying on Colin's playmate - he had to be stripped b/c he spilled lasagna on his outfit!! (Spray and Wash is definitely our best friend)

The McNultys welcomed ANOTHER girl in August!! YAY!! Amy and Ted had a little girl, Annika Greer McNulty. She is absolutely precious. We really hope to meet her soon. Can you believe the Ted McNulty family has more granddaughters (3) than grandsons (2)??

Here she is - isn't she breathtaking??
Then we had the BIG birthday/party weekend. On the morning of August 22nd it was Augusta Grace's FIRST birthday!! WOW!! She is the BEST little hostess yet! Her pink party was FANTASTIC!!

Isn't she just the prettiest little redhead you've EVER seen???

Since probably November, Molly, Linda and I have been planning a surprise party for Kelly and Shawn's 30th birthday. I think it was a total success. We had LOTS of fun and Kelly was surprised (Shawn says he figured it out). The highlight of the night was DEFINITELY when Ted took us for a spin in the RV - now if we can get him to drive us up to the GA game in Fayetteville, my life will be complete!!

Lauren Chambliss Meredith did a GREAT job on their banners!!

On Sunday, after the big birthday parties, we had a sip and see for sweet little Colin. It was a fantastic way to end a wonderful weekend!!

I wish I had more pictures but my camera is missing AGAIN - I last remember having it at the Sip and See and was certain I packed it to come home but can't find it - UGH!! Hopefully it will turn up soon and it won't be so long until our next post.

We hope you all have a great week. Max and I are a little under the weather (no swine flu though) so say a prayer for us!!

Hugs!
