October and More Firsts

Wow! It's been over a month since my last post. Our computer was sick with a virus and we just got it back. We sure have been busy. My sweet little Max is such a busy boy! He is also grown into a really BIG boy. He is SO tall. He is really almost too tall for most of his 2t rompers (I'll be lowering buttons really soon!). He is also H-E-A-V-Y!! He weighs almost 32 lbs!!! (Like I said, he's a big boy!)
He freely gives kisses now and I LOVE it!! I am not a morning person - at all, so Kelly usually gets Max in the morning before leaving for work. Max will climb in my bed and give me all kinds of kisses. It is SO sweet!!
His vocabulary is still really growing. His daddy taught him some of his numbers. Now after we say one, Max says two!! (well sometimes). He is so smart and really loves his daddy. Periodically, we go to Kelly's work. Just last week, we were leaving my office and passed Kelly's building on the way home. Max started pointing at Kelly's building and screaming Dad-da. How smart is that?!?

Max had a REALLY busy October. Take a peek:

Max's best friend Harper came for a visit
We LOVE our time with the Feilkes. While we are SO sad they don't live in LR anymore, we are SO happy for them and their small town living. In this picture, Harper is wearing his Ricebirds jersey. It even had Harper's name on the back - how cute is that?! It really made wish we lived in a small town, maybe we'll just follow the Feilkes to Stuttgart?
We also celebrated Melissa's baby shower and Mitchell's birth in October. Melissa and Clay welcomed their sweet baby boy, Mitchell almost two weeks ago. He is PRECIOUS!! He had a head FULL of blond hair. It was a first for me - I have seen newborns with blond hair but never a head full!! Kelly had something come up at work, so Max had to join me at the shower. He found a motorized "school bus" at the house and LOVED it! It was SO funny watching him drive it.
Driving the Bus
He had a great time!!

He was kind of big for the bus, so he kept his leg out most of the time - it really cracked me up!

Here he is taking a break from all his driving and watching TV.

Speaking of TV, we (Max and I) don't really watch TV during the day. In fact, the TV really does not come on until Kelly comes home. It really is a recent development that Max even watches TV - he is usually uninterested. Well, let me tell you - Street (for Sesame Street), Elmo and Bob (for SpongeBob) are Max's three new words. He gets SO excited when he hears the intro music for Sesame Street, Elmo's World or Spongebob. His face just lights up and he usually starts dancing. Max LOVES Elmo - too bad Max's mom doesn't feel the same way (I don't like SpongeBob at all, but that is NEVER on when I'm home). Now Max loves playing with his diapers b/c Elmo is on them - ha!! It has really become a bonding time for Kelly and Max. They count, say their alphabet and talk about animals. It really sparks a lot of learning. It is pretty cute too. Now Kelly wants to buy Max the Your baby can Read videos - we'll see.

For Halloween this year, Max was a duck (or chicken - whatever anyone called him, we went with it.) We said he was a duck b/c he sounds so cute when he quacks. It was the CUTEST costume EVER. Seriously!! The cutest part was definitely his walk. The costume had so much stuffing that it really looked as though he was waddling when walking. TOO CUTE!! I took him to Kelly's office, my office, and Kelly's grandparents before Halloween and EVERYONE loved the waddle. The pictures really don't do it justice. I'll upload video soon. Well, last year for Halloween, Max was only about 7 months old so we didn't do much. This year he was invited to his first Halloween party.
Here is our little ducky ready for his First Halloween Party (His mom and dad dressed as farmers)

Unfortunately another one of Max's first prevented us from making it to the party. We were in Max's first wreck!!!! We were almost to the party when some lug nuts on a tire came loose and the tire popped of the trailer. It rolled straight into our car. BOO!!
Here is my poor car!!
Luckily we were all just fine. We crashed next to a cow pasture. It was the perfect spot because Max was SO enthralled with the cows. He just kept pointing to the cows and mooing. It was SOOOO cute!! Really!! Kelly and I were a little sore, so we all decided to go to the ER (on the advice of Max's doctor) just to have Max checked out.

Here is my pretty little boy sitting on the ER bed
Here are my two sweet boys!!

Because Max basically missed Halloween due to the wreck and ER visit, we took him to Boo at the Zoo on the Sunday after Halloween. I made Kelly put back on his farmer outfit assuming other people would be dressed up - well, I assumed wrong! Kelly said he was really going to have start putting his foot down with me and my ideas - ha!! Nonetheless, we had a GREAT time and Max got to celebrate Halloween.

Worn Out

We certainly hope that our November is safer than our October. We are really looking forward to the holidays. Kelly's twin and his family are coming to town for Thanksgiving as well as my mom, step-dad, brother and sister. I can't wait!! In other news, my sister ELOPED!!! WOW!! We are so excited and Max loves having a new uncle! Congrats to Sara and Mike!!

This weekend if you are in Little Rock, don't forget to go to Holiday House!! We are going with Shugah and Augusta Grace. (Kelly will be in the deer woods most days, so I'll be a deer widow. Thankfully, Kelly's camp is close to home so he comes home each night).

We hope that you all stay safe and have a MAXnificent week!! Love and Hugs!!

Paternity CONFIRMED

For those of you that know Kelly, the title says it all once you see the pictures. Apparently, Max loves dipping sauce as much as his daddy - the video really sums it up. (However, the re-dipping of the same ravioli in the marinara reminds me of my sister, a chicken wing/carrot, dipping and a Christmas party.) Remember you have to go to the blog for the video http://kellytabithamcnultyfamily.blogspot.com/ The next big test (and really the ONLY test of Max's true heritage as a McNulty) will be cheese dip.

Also, the video confirms my earlier post from today about Max seeing a camera and responding with cheese

Friends, Cheese and Peek-a-Boo

Just a quick post!
Max and Rocky - this is SO sweet and rare!! (Usually Rocky avoids Max and runs from him. Unfortunately, Max thinks it is a game and chases after him!)

CHEESE - now whenever Max sees a camera flash he runs towards it saying, "Cheese!" Too funny!

Peek-A- Boo is still one of Max's FAVORITE games - he'll hide behind ANYTHING

Sweet Little Boy

I can't believe September is almost over! We've had lots of fun this month. Since our last post, Max spent the weekend with Aunt Wendy and Uncle Tim in PB while Kelly and I went to Fayetteville for the Georgia game. Wendy and Tim said he could come back so I'm guessing he was a good boy!! Even though the game didn't go as planned, Kelly and I had a great weekend in Fayetteville.

This past weekend we went to Harvestfest in Hillcrest (for about 20 minutes - ha!!). Max got to try out his wagon. He really liked it. We also got to visit with Hannah. She was SO sweet to visit us but we sure missed Colin (Trey too)! After Harvestfest we watch the dreadful AR/Bama game - it was TERRIBLE!!!! However, Max kept our spirits up. He is so cute during football games. He yells touchdown with arm motions and will scream, "go, go, go" while pumping his fists. It is SO cute.

Yesterday Max went back and forth between Kelly and I giving us kisses and smacking his lips while running between us. It was A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!! I love my little boy more everyday. He is really becoming such a little boy. He knows lots of his animals and the sounds they make. His quack is really funny. It is so much fun to watch him run and play, but it makes me so sad that he is moving further away from being a little baby. I've even taken to sleeping in his room again!!!!! (snuggling with him sometimes - not good!!) Well enjoy some recent pictures. Have a great week!

Kelly is definitely Max's favorite playmate
Family Pic in our red & white before the game (my cute little t-shirt is from bibs&cribs - just click the link. I love it!!)
Isn't this the most precious face?
Laying with his daddy!! Just look how big he is getting!!!
(In fact, as I type he is asleep in my lap, very similar to the picture!!)
Hugs to you all!

The Magic Word!!

Max has learned to say please and, believe me, he not only knows how to say please he knows WHEN to say please!! Lately whenever he REALLY wants something and I'm not responding quickly enough, he will walk up to me and say, "Pease, pease, pease!!" Talk about melting my heart!!! It might be one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard!!

Just the other day I gave him his breakfast. Well, he decided he didn't want what I prepared. So, he kept asking for more "num, num." I kept directing him to the food he had on his tray, but that was not the answer he wanted. So, he climbed into my lap, looked up at me with those big brown eye and with a smile on his face said, "pease, pease, pease." How could I refuse?? I, of course, promptly made him something different!! I guess it really is the magic word. HA!!

It really is so sweet. He even says it (well sometimes and somedays he needs some prompting) when he gets frustrated and needs help, which is a BIG change from just screaming until we help!

Here is a video of my sweet baby and his magical new word! (Remember you have to go directly to the blog to view videos http://kellytabithamcnultyfamily.blogspot.com/)

Back in Business!!

The camera was right in front of my face this WHOLE time!! whoops! Max began the start of his 2nd football season with his Sugah and Pop in Sherrill. He had a great time and was REALLY worn out when he got home. I know he is going to be so much fun this season. He still calls the hogs with the arm movements and has recently started saying "touchdown" with arm movements. His dad really works with him. It's really cute.

Max has been working really hard this summer teething. It start in May and hasn't stopped. All of his molars (top and bottom) are almost completely in and his k-9s are moving in too. Teething has been really rough for him this go round but I have to say, all in all, he's been a REALLY good sport.

When I was loading pictures from my camera I stopped and looked at pictures from September of last year. I CANNOT believe how much my baby has grown!!!! Take a look:

September 2008:
Barely sitting up - really GQ though!

No teeth!! (This picture just cracks me up - I feel like I can actually hear him laughing!!)

September 2009
Standing with a MOUTH FULL of teeth

What a difference a year makes huh?? A year ago, Max was barely sitting up without assistance and now he is running like a mad man!

Here he is running around the sprinkler park!

One thing that hasn't changed from last year is Max's appetite. Max still LOVES too eat!! We are working really hard on getting him to eat more solid vegetables. I know he is too old for baby food veggies but he still gets them sometimes because he will eat them (and enjoys eating them). Lately he will eat solid peas and green beans - so that is a definite plus. I don't know if it is a texture or taste issue for him but we will just keep trying until he will eat ALL his veggies!

Here he is eating spaghetti (and yes he is sitting on the table, it's so much fun - besides, isn't that where all little boys who are the center of the universe sit?)

He LIKES it - shocker, I know

Uh, o - I'm thinking someone told him no.
Max doesn't just sit on tables to eat, he likes to ride on them too - here he is riding the lazy susan at Sugah and Pop's house.

Max also continues to be a really messy eater! (I have a feeling that some things will never change.) FYI: these pictures totally don't do justice to the messes Max made - they were bad BELIEVE me!!!

Here he is in September of 2008 eating - look at that messy face

And here he is, exactly one year later and still a mess!!

With a face like that, what mother would mind cleaning up his mess - not this one!!

We have gone to the zoo a few times since Max was a baby but this month was the first time we've gone since he became a skilled walker/runner. He ran himself ragged at the zoo. He loved having the freedom and the animals. The bears were his favorite.

Here he is just running!! (and LOVING it!!)

In my very first blog, I posted about Max's first trip to the zoo in July 2008. On that trip to the zoo, Max pretty much slept in his stroller the ENTIRE time. On that first trip, a grizzly bear was OBSESSED with Max. The bear really tried to get him and wouldn't pay attention to anything/anyone but Max. I mean completely stalked him - it was one of the craziest things I've ever seen. Well, on our trip this week, the SAME bear was COMPLETELY obsessed with Max. Once again other people tried to get the bear's attention but he/she would ONLY follow Max. I'm telling you, it was SO weird!!! Take a look:

Here is the bear trying to get Max in July of 2008 Here the bear is again this week - look at him licking his lips!!
Max thought it was funny

Max enjoyed the petting zoo this time around too. This is him running away laughing and exclaiming, "oh, no!" He did this EVERY TIME he touched an animal. It was really entertaining.
O, No!!

He also had a fun time playing at the playground.

However, his FAVORITE part of the zoo, hands down, was the walk-through sprinklers. I couldn't get him away from those things.

Here he is WORN out from all the fun at the zoo!!!

As you can tell from the last picture, he is still a thumb sucker - just like last year! (He's also still a GREAT sleeper!!)

We hope you all had a great labor day! Have a wonderful week! HUGS!!!
